Summary
The daughter of a ducal house is suddenly betrothed to the crown prince. At court, he appears emotionless, edged with danger—his eyes dull and lightless. She recognizes those eyes: they’re the same ones she saw reflected in the window as she froze to death in a past life after years of abuse. The king confides that thirteen years ago the prince was abducted by a neighboring nation and raised as an assassin. In this second life, for the family who finally taught her love—and because she can’t abandon someone so wounded—she vows to make the engagement work. Little by little, her resolve fills the cracks in his heart, blossoming into an unknowing love.
