Summary
I want to reach the top, in basketball—” Sou Jinno, who became the best in Japan in high school basketball, goes to a university in the United States to become an NBA player. Although he continues to perform well after entering university… two years later—a Japanese man is playing gambling basketball in New York. It’s a down-and-out Jinno. Having dropped out of university for a certain reason, Jinno has fallen so low that he’s living hand-to-mouth through gambling basketball. The dazzling image he once had is gone. One day, after a gambling basketball game, he is approached by a socio (mafia) member who asks, “Why don’t you make some money with your basketball?” The invitation he is given reads “Ranker Game BASKETBALL SHOW,” a competition where × matches are held with something at stake. Taken to the venue, Jinno is given a mission: “to lose the match by throwing the game.” The game begins, and he steadily makes mistakes, putting his team in a pinch.
