Lol! Author doesn’t even hide his inspiration of MonteCristo ! The problem is Dumas worked on the character of Edmond Dantes, who was very credible… But there is no work on this hero who is quite incoherent in many ways… He’ll just serve the flow of the story and that’s a bit nervewrecking… as we are stuck with him till the end ^^
But an adaptation of MonteCristo cannot be all bad so I’ll keep going ^^
