Summary
Serun Greenwood’s kingdom has been ravaged by war and she has been captured, taken to become a sacrificial offering to the gods of the mountain. It is said that the wolves that guard the mountain will offer protection in return to those who give up a human sacrifice to them. And thus Serun’s fate has been sealed. If only she had died with dignity along with her family instead of becoming lowly meat for the wolves. A painless death is all she can hope for but, alas, seeing those sharp, white teeth piercing through the darkness, it will be anything but. Then suddenly, he appears. A winter wolf who saves Serun's life, for the time being. But this oddly familiar beast, are his motives righteous or of ill intent? Will the harshness of their winter ever blossom into the warmth of a tender spring?
